What is Botox and how does it work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a popular injectable treatment that is widely used for wrinkle reduction and facial rejuvenation. At Bespoke Beauty BOTOX is used for a variety of cosmetic concerns, including frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles. BOTOX not only helps with fine lines and wrinkles, but also assists with facial slimming, brow lifts, lip flips, gummy smiles, bunny lines and even hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Have you heard of a Nefertiti Lift? This can be done with BOTOX causing a lift in the jawline. We can also help large pores appear smaller by microneedling with BOTOX. Over time, as we do things like laugh, squint, or scowl, the lines created in our facial muscles deepen and become permanent, forming wrinkles and divots. BOTOX is a neurotoxin made from a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, which works by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. This results in the temporary relaxation of facial muscles, which can smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. This temporary relaxation can last anywhere from three to four months and prevents the acceleration of deep lines and wrinkles through repeated furrowing of the brows and other related muscles. Regular treatments can help maintain a more youthful appearance over time; this is why BOTOX is also used as a preventative measure to avoid fine lines and wrinkles from settling in.

Does Botox hurt?
BOTOX injections are quick and rather painless. Numbing agents are not necessary. A very small needle is used and the feeling is generally described as a pinch.

How fast will I see results?
BOTOX tends to take effect around the 7-10 day mark. Full effects are not seen until day 14 post treatment. The peak duration lasts 6-8 weeks and the muscle movement will then simply start to reappear after. You will not wake up one day and have full movement back. It is a gradual process. If planning treatment prior to an event, 4-6 weeks before is recommended.

How much does BOTOX cost per unit or per treatment?
We currently price BOTOX at $11/unit. Treatment cost varies based on the individual needs of the client.

What are the side effects of BOTOX and how long do they last?
The most common side effects of BOTOX injections include: Bruising and swelling at the injection site: These side effects usually disappear within a few hours or days after the treatment. Headache: This is not a common side effect. If you do get a headache post BOTOX injections, it usually goes away within a few hours or days after the treatment. Flu-like symptoms: Although rare, some people may experience mild flu-like symptoms, such as a fever, chills, or fatigue, after the treatment. Droopy eyelid/brow or uneven smile: This is a side effect that occurs when the BOTOX spreads beyond the targeted area and is not uncommon. It usually subsides within 2 weeks. It does not last the full expected duration of your BOTOX treatment. Dry mouth or eyes: Some people may experience dry mouth or eyes after the treatment, which can last for several days. Allergic reactions: Although rare, some people may develop an allergic reaction to BOTOX, which can cause itching, rash, or difficulty breathing. The duration of these side effects varies depending on the individual and the severity of the side effect. Most of the mild side effects such as bruising, swelling, and headache usually disappear within a few hours or days after the treatment. However, the more severe side effects such as droopy eyelids or uneven smile may take a few weeks to resolve. If you experience any side effects after BOTOX treatment, it is important to contact Bespoke Beauty immediately for evaluation.

How long does Botox last?
The duration of the effects of BOTOX varies depending on the individual and the area treated. In general, the effects of BOTOX last between 3 to 4 months, after which the muscles gradually regain their function, and the wrinkles and fine lines begin to reappear. However, the duration of the effects can also depend on factors such as the dosage of BOTOX administered, the strength of the patient's muscles, metabolism, and the frequency of the injections. Another key factor is the dose given which will have a direct effect on the duration of your BOTOX. Over time, with repeated treatments, some patients may notice that the effects of BOTOX last longer. Everyone metabolizes neurotoxins differently. Some people may get a little less time and some a little longer. It is important to note that the effects of BOTOX are temporary and not permanent. Therefore, patients will need to have regular treatments to maintain the desired results. Kelley or other practitioners can help you determine the best treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals.
How often should I get BOTOX injections?
The frequency of BOTOX injections depends on several factors, including the area being treated, the severity of wrinkles, and the patient's individual response to the treatment. In general, most patients will need to get BOTOX injections every 3 to 4 to maintain the desired results. BOTOX around the perioral region generally lasts a shorter amount of time because we use those muscles more often. Every patient is unique. Treatments are tailored to the client and their individual needs. For example; one person may get 20 units in the glabella and have a therapeutic treatment while another may require 30 units. It depends on many factors which our nurses will discuss and then create a plan of care with you at your appointment.

Can Botox be used for preventative aging?
Yes! BOTOX can be used for preventative aging, as it is effective at preventing the formation of wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause them. When used as a preventative measure, BOTOX is typically injected into the muscles that are most likely to cause wrinkles, such as the forehead and around the eyes, before the wrinkles become deeply etched into the skin. By relaxing these muscles, BOTOX can prevent the wrinkles from forming, or at least minimize their appearance. Preventative BOTOX injections are most commonly recommended for individuals in their 20s and 30s who are starting to notice the first signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles. However, it is important to note that BOTOX injections are a temporary solution and will need to be repeated regularly to maintain the results.
What is the difference between Botox and fillers?
BOTOX and dermal fillers are both cosmetic treatments that are used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, but they work in different ways.  BOTOX is a purified form of botulinum toxin that is injected into the muscles to temporarily relax them. By relaxing the muscles, BOTOX can reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, which are wrinkles that form when the muscles contract, such as frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines. BOTOX injections typically last 3 to 4 months. Muscles that pull downward, like our platysmal bands (muscles along the neck and jaw), release and pull upward when injected with BOTOX. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are injectable substances that are used to restore volume to the face and fill in static wrinkles, which are wrinkles that are present even when the muscles are at rest, such as smile lines, marionette lines, and hollow cheeks. Jawlines can be lifted and temples restored with dermal fillers resulting in a more youthful appearance. Dermal fillers are a more restorative treatment. They can be used alone or combined with micronutrients for full face rejuvenation through microneedling.  Dermal Fillers are typically made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, and can last from 6 to 18 months, depending on the type of filler used.  Calcium Hydroxyapatite is another form of filler that is beautiful for restoring youth to the face by lifting the jawline or adding volume back to deflated cheeks and temples. When hyper diluted with micronutrients it improves skin texture, wrinkles and crepiness within the tissue. Full neocollagenesis is seen within 3 months of this treatment. This is a FAVORITE treatment at Bespoke Beauty.
